The Peripheral Sensor Interface (PSI5) is an interface for automotive sensor applications. PSI5 is an open standard based on existing sensor interfaces for peripheral airbag sensors, already proven in millions of airbag systems. The technical characteristics, the low implementation overhead, as well as the attractive cost make the PSI5 also suitable for many other automotive sensor applications.
As part of product validation, it’s important to validate the product’s conformance against the protocol specification to ensure the interoperability of the product. As the complexity of the protocol and product increases, the validation time of the protocol interfaces also increases, which in turn reduces the RTM. Performing the protocol conformance testing traditionally needs a lot of time and effort.
Soliton’s PSI5 Sensor Protocol Validation Tool is an out-of-the-box validation tool using NI’s PXI Platform, which helps to validate the devices’ compliance with the timing and electrical specifications of the PSI5 protocol. The tool can also validate the device's tolerance and provide a comprehensive set of reports. Users have claimedthat, using this automated solution for PSI5 Sensor Protocol Validation has brought down the test time/validation time from a few days to a few hours.
Peek and Poke GUI for interactive debug of the PSI5 interface. This helps to exercising and debugging the PSI5 communication manually. User can configure any allowed timing/voltage parameters to debug the transactions.
