SoundWire-I3S interface is used for transporting data typically related to audio functions. The SoundWire-I3S interface addresses a wide range of system scenarios where up to eleven Peripheral interfaces share the common bus. SoundWire-I3S facilitates the development of low-cost, efficient, and high-performance audio systems.
As a part of product validation, it is important to validate the product’s conformance against the protocol specification to ensure the product’s interoperability. As the complexity of the protocol and product increases, the validation time of the protocol interfaces also increases, which, in turn, reduces the RTM. Performing the protocol conformance testing traditionally needs a lot of time and effort.
Soliton’s SoundWire-I3S Protocol Validation Tool is an off-the-shelf validation tool using NI’s PXI Platform, which helps to validate the device’s compliance with the timing and electrical specifications of the SoundWire-I3S protocol. The tool SoundWire-I3S also validates the device’s tolerance to and recovery from various SoundWire-I3S faults & exceptions and provides a comprehensive set of reports.

Soliton’s SoundWire-I3S Validation Suite is an off the shelf validation tool using NI’s PXI Platform, which helps to validate the devices’ compliance with timing and electrical specifications of the Soundwire protocol. It contains the below components.
- NI PXIe 657x – Digital Pattern Generation Card with the PXIe Chassis setup
- Soliton PVS Interposer Board
- Oscilloscope – For performing voltage measurements
- Soliton SoundWire-I3S Validation Suite Software compatible with Windows OS (Win 10)
